Raw Materials ; Interview with Kreate

DJ Schizo (Jakarta), Just A Kid (Jerman) dan Kusasi (Bali) bergantian memutar lagu dari balik piranti turntable.

Bboyindo berkesempatan untuk mewawancarai Febian Hidranto a.k.a Kreate sang empunya acara mengenai Raw Materials. Berikut hasil ngobrol kami via surat elektronik:

Bboyindo (B): Sup, Kreate

Kreate (K):      What's up Bboyindo!

Gw jg ga mau orang-orang untuk terlalu mikirin menang atau kalahnya, gw pgn mrk dtg untuk have fun & have a good time aja.

B : Kenapa namanya 'Raw Materials'?

K: Karna acaranya mentah aka fresh..!!! hahahaha

B: Thanks Kreate. Any shout out?

K: Thx to everybody who have helped me throw this event, thx for everybody who been supporting the jam. Shout out to my Bboyindo fams, shout out to RytRoc for this interview and help me pass the message wider and hope everybody can come to the next one...!! God bless..!! Peace!!!

B: This is 5th edition of Raw Materials. How you feel that your jam is still goin since 2005 and one of that everybody waiting for?

K: Didnt know it was a jam that people is waiting for but Thank You for that and thanks everybody for have been supporting it since day one =) It feels good to have a community based jam like "Raw Materials" cause everybody from in and out of Indo knows the purpose of this jam. They know that this jam is pure from the people for the people and it's mission is to build the scene in Indonesia and give the local bboys/bgirl an opportunity to share those open circles with the internationals and to share that vibe =)

B: What or who inspired you to make Raw Materials? And why you choose to make it as a party and not a competition?

K: So "Raw Materials" was an actual jam from Virginia, the place where i grew up and learned bboyin from. The person who organized it was my mentor, his name is Xeno from the crew "Flipside Kings" from Miami, Flordida. The jam was held outdoor in this park, it was during the winter time too. I was amazed by how many crews from out of state that actually came and supported, plus it was freezing..!!! He had dudes coming from Philladelphia, Connecticut, New York, Boston & Miami. To me, that jam was the freshest jam ive ever been to in my whole bboying carreer, so i asked Xeno if i could hold the same jam with the same concept but use the same name. He said, Yes...and it was on from then. I didnt wanna make it as a competition because theres no "feel" in competitions, just a contest with judges, you do your runs, your opponents do theirs then the losers goes home crying. I dont want anybody goes home sad cus they "lost", i want people to just come and vibe and have a good time. I wanted the people here to feel that party vibe because this culture started from parties back in the days, not worrying about whos the winner and how much the cash prize is. And also back in the early 2000s, it was had for people to go overseas, not only dancers. So i thought i'd invite my friends from overseas and have them do exhibition battles with the locals so the locals can feel how it is battling internationals. If i couldnt help people from here to go overseas then i'll just bring the internationals here and have them share that vibe with the kids here in the chypers =)

B: Why the name is 'Raw Materials'?

K: Because the jam is raw...!!!! =D

B: How you invite bboys and bgirls from overseas to come to the jam?

K: I just tell them what this jam is about and the concept of the jam is and most come here to actually support the scene in Indo and to make it bigger but yet have the knowledge about the culture. We never/havent paid for any of the international bboys thats been here. The people love it when the cause is good and pure for the scene and the kids =)

B: Which one is the best edition of Raw Materials for you?

K: Whoa, tough one. Every each one have diff stories and they all were fun......but if i have to pickk.....shieeeeeeee.....i have to go with the first one cause thats the one that set it off.

B: What's your plan for the next edition?

K: We gonna keep throwing it in Bali because its a beautiful island. Nice island for people to have holidays on, party and hang with everybody. Plus since its small, everybody can just go on their own ways and enjoy the island without have to worry about being stuck in traffic.

Peace!!!
